From Wikipedia:

Petra, is a historic and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Petra lies around Jabal Al-Madbah in a basin surrounded by mountains which form the eastern flank of the Arabah valley that runs from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba.[5] The area around Petra has been inhabited from as early as 7000 BC,[6] and the Nabataeans might have settled in what would become the capital city of their kingdom, as early as the 4th century BC.[7] However, archaeological work has only discovered evidence of Nabataean presence dating back to the second century BC, by which time Petra had become their capital. The Nabataeans were nomadic Arabs who invested in Petra’s proximity to the trade routes by establishing it as a major regional trading hub.

The parallel lines and well-defined shapes are really well suited for this art style, such that a quick draft was made in a breeze. I wanted to keep the color palette limited to hot and earth-like tones in order to underline the atmosphere (as seen from reference images; I’ve never been there myself).

Initial Geometry

Due to the flatness in the first draft, I played around with a directional light. From the left top corner, it adds some nice contrast and lets the bright colors unfold their saturation.

Added details and direct lighting

To give some hints about the dimensions, I added an adventurer with on his way to explore. Furthermore, the hue of the highlights and same floor was shifted towards yellow to give the image more tonal contrast.
